Aside from using the ship to move between planets, a complicated network of shortcuts exists between planets and scenes. The game, being presented in first person view, enables shifts from the macroscopic to the microscopic level.

Each world has a phone hidden within it with a number you can write down. Once you find other numbers, you can dial them to have a brief chat with some of the in game characters or even dial your spaceship to see what's going on while you're away. While not a huge feature, it's one that's memorable and pretty cool.

However, this type of gameplay also comes with a few problems.

The first is that Cosmic Osmo gives you no sense of direction or goals. Unlike Myst, which places a note giving you direction immediately next to the start, Cosmic Osmo gives you no such help and as such, you'll be quite confused when the game simply starts up, giving you no help, context or direction of any sort.

Due to the lack of puzzles, plot or gameplay, this game also doesn't truly feel like an experience like Myst and you get no sense of accomplishment from playing it.

In fact, due to this the game feels more like an interactive Powerpoint presentation than a game and you'll likely grow tired or bored of it within minutes or as soon as you find out that nothing you do matters. While the worlds are fun to explore, they don't leave a memorable impression as you don't feel a sense of connection to them or their residents since they're likely only on screen for a few moments as you pass through.
